Rare and Wonderful Girls Juvenile Series book of the Art Nouveau/Titanic Era. Lothrop, Lee and Sheppard a prestige publication produced some beautiful looking juvenile fiction during the Golden Age of the 1900-1914 period and this is a fine example of the artistry and charm of the era and the publisher.
1st Edition printed in 1912 of Gerturde Fisher Scott's Jean Cabot at Ashton. L,L,S book done in dark forest green picture cover with gorgeous design of Jean in smart tennis togs lobbing a ball over the net with the title in Gilt lettering and a fantastic looking red college pennant with an A on the spine. First book of four- all exceptionally hard to find especially in this condition. Bright clean cover and spine some very slight fade to the pennant area but the white tennis outfit and the netting are in splendid shape. I have also provided an image of the frontpiece done in half-tone with additional interior illustrations on glossy paper by artist Arthur O. Scott. Six illustrations in all, tight firm solid binding and bright white pages- would consider this copy vg+. 361pp. A simply wonderful addition to your juvenile collectibles. Rarely seen- this copy was part of a private collection and stored well for many years.
