Description: Rare Pair of Large Early Royal Copenhagen Figurines Modelled by Christian Thomsen 1860-1921. These were modelled in 1913 and are numbered King 1478 and Queen 1494. These large figurines form a pair and are truely wonderful. The king 1478 is modelled seated in a winged chair with his crown on his head and holding a cat septre with his orb on the floor being played with by a cat in muted blues, browns and creams. The Queen 1494 is modelled as a companion seated in a winged chair holding a fan with a cockatile seated on one of the headrests in muted blues, browns and creams.The back stamp marks are as per pictures and carry the Royal Copenhagen date marks for 1893-1928.
