Description:
A Rare, late Victorian/Edwardian, Gentleman's "Buttonhole " Swiss made watch, in a Gunmetal, Blued Steel case with Gunmetal Blued Steel hour hand and brass minute hand, C.1900. The white enamel dial with gilt dots and Arabic numerals with red twelve. With the dial (15mm diameter),protruding through the buttonhole and the main movement housing unseen,(29mm) an effective illusion of miniaturization, this unusual watch appears to be incredibly small, an amusing late Victorian/ Edwardian novelty . The condition of this watch is good, the minute hand is detached and needs to be re-attached, needs a cleaning and service, will run briefly but stops. Selling this rare and unusual watch as found.
