Description:
In the late 1800's, The Arbuckle Coffee Company was one of the
largest concerns in the United States. They issued a series of
lithograph cards that were at once interesting, instructive and
artistic, yet offered as advertisements. These cards were given
out with each package of coffee purchased. They covered all the
states as well as many foreign countries.
A separate series of slightly larger cards were produced for
inclusion in an atlas. This particular card of the Argentine
Republic was intended for just such an atlas. As a result, it is
quite a bit harder to find.
The card has a map of Argentina on the left side. To the right is
a circular scene of a man on horseback throwing the bolas.
Below it is a view of Buenos Aires. Bales of wool are also shown.
There is a chart of area and population.
