This is a rare Brass FIGURAL WHISK BROOM Sitting Dog. This well-made item is modeled and cast in relief and has a nice patina. The features include an expressive seated upright begging dog, (probably a spaniel) a bristle brush and wood insert, and a large brass shell or cover. The top of the dog has a hook, the bottom has a long screw which holds the whisk broom together. This DOG WHISK BROOM measures 7 inches Long, and weighs 3.5 Oz. This DOG WHISK BROOM is in good condition with no repairs or restorations, just a bit of light wear from age and a little loose on the handle. The estimated date is late 19th Century.
