Description:
This rare cobalt blue (pictures don't show the true deep blue color) tumbler was part of a Victorian Lemonade or Water set from the late 1800's. It is hand enameled with orange and pink flowers and green leaves, and white dots, and has a gold rim which has faded. It measures 4" tall, almost 3" across the top, and just over 2" across the bottom. The interior has 16 ribs, which is very unusual, and the outside is round. The top rim has a tiny chip, and t is another small one right below it on the inside rim. These are not sharp and could easily be ground smooth. I located this tumbler in the lowcountry of South Carolina, w ladies would sit on their veranda sipping lemonade before the turn of the century. This tumbler is a wonderful example of early American pressed glass (EAPG).
