Description:
Collector Bookstore is a retailer of new books located in Leavenworth, Kansas. We specialize in price guides and reference books for the antiques and collectibles industry. Grand Rapids, Michigan was a furniture manufacturing center long before George and Albert Stickley moved there in 1891. The work of these two younger brothers of Gustav Stickley clearly shows his influence. In this catalogue, isssued circa, 1908, some original and noteworthy designs began to appear: It is not widely known, for instance, that Stickley Brothers made lighting fixtures and beaten copper objects for use and ornamentation, and they are pictured here. The firm adopted the trademark Quaint Furniture"" in conjunction with Stickley Bros. Co. of Grand Rapids"" during this early period. To meet the growing interest in the American Arts and Crafts Movement, we are re-publishing this catalogue in its entirety for the use of curators, scholars and collectors. We have taken great care in matching stock and ink for faithful reproduction. The original catalogue was generously loaned to us by Glenview Antiques of Oakland, California. Other furniture catalogues in facsimile are also available in this series.
