Description:
This set of 4 Pyrex milk glass coffee mugs with diagonal shaped handles were made by The Corning Glass Works Company of Corning New York. In 1915, a wondrous new line of "glass dishes for baking" appeared in the nation's hardware, department and china stores. On May 18, 1915, Boston department store Jordan Marsh placed the first Pyrex order. Sold under the Pyrex trademark, this transparent ovenware seemed to be the perfect material, for it was "swift, clean, and economical." Over the 89 years since it was introduced, Pyrex products have seen many changes in design, color, decoration and accessories to keep pace with constantly changing fashions and cooking practices. Pyrex is now available in a large assortment of products perfect for preparing, taking, baking, serving and storing food. The pattern known by Old Town Blue is sometimes referred to as Blue Onion. With a cobalt blue floral border design around the rim they are marked on the bottom: Pyrex/#1410/Microwave/USA/26. In very good + condition, they appear to have never been used and measure 3 1/2 inches tall, 4 1/2 rim to handle and 3 3/8 inches wide. A wonderful addition to any table setting and Vintage Pyrex Glass Collection. SH & Ins. will be quoted after orders placed.
