Description:
This set of 3 Pyrex glass coffee/tea cups and saucers were made by The Corning Glass Works Company of Corning New York. In 1915, a wondrous new line of "glass dishes for baking" appeared in the nation's hardware, department and china stores. On May 18, 1915, Boston department store Jordan Marsh placed the first Pyrex order. Sold under the Pyrex trademark, this transparent ovenware seemed to be the perfect material, for it was "swift, clean, and economical." Over the 89 years since it was introduced, Pyrex products have seen many changes in design, color, decoration and accessories to keep pace with constantly changing fashions and cooking practices. Pyrex is now available in a large assortment of products perfect for preparing, taking, baking, serving and storing food. Done in dainty blue flowers under a blue garland the pattern name is Morning Blue and the cups are marked on the bottom: Pyrex/Microwave Safe/No Stovetop or Broiler/Corning USA, while the saucer is marked: Corelle by Corning. In very good + condition, they appear to have never been used and the cups measure 2 3/4 inches tall and 3 3/4 inches across the rim while the saucer measures 6 1/8 inches in diameter. A wonderful addition to any table setting, Pyrex or Corning Glass Collection. SH & Ins. will be quoted after orders placed.
