Description:

This original production art pencil drawing was done for The Ren & Stimpy Show.  The notations say: AHHHH, THE COALS..., DX Tone, DX Fire, and of letters and numbers.  There is the Korean translation next to the notations (in blue).  This is a two piece drawing with a pencil overlay ontop.  Here, Ren is grilling over an open fire.

The show follows two characters - Ren, a crazy Chihuahua - and - Stimpy, an incredibly stupid cat - as they think up to all kinds of hair brained schemes and get themselves into some sticky situations. The Ren and Stimpy Show debuted in August 1991 with a two-part episode, 'Stimpy's Big Day / The Big Shot' and became an instant hit. It was the third Nicktoon ever to be aired on the Network alongside Doug and Rugrats.

Original "rough" animation drawing, with non-photo blue and the notations are in black, blue, and red; Ren has been penciled in with black and shaded in with blue.Overall size is a12-field drawing that is 10 1/2 × 12 1/2 Excellent condition

Traditional animation is a multi-step process which includes various types of art techniques.  Drawings are a key part of the process, in which the animator creates the design and movement of the characters.  Drawings are then transferred onto acetate cels (by hand-inking and/or photo copying) to create a production cel, which is then hand painted on the back side, using paint colors chosen and approved by the creator of the series.

This drawing is ready to be framed and matted.  There is a Mr. Big cartoons stamp and the animator's notations (on both drawings) are shown at the bottom of the drawing.
