Description:
This Precious Moments Christmas Ornament, Serve With A Smile, is marked on the bottom with the Olive Branch mark (Symbol of peace and understanding)/1986 Samual J.Butcher/All Rights Reserved Worldwide/Licensee Enesco Import Corp. #102431. Precious Moments, the trademark pastel-hued figurines with teardrop-shaped eyes, were created by Samuel Butcher of Missouri in 1978, with 21 figurines ("Original 21"). Sam Butcher was a preacher, and he based his creations on Christian values, naming each figurine based on either sayings from children, or deriving from their innocence. In 1974, a friend invited him to join forces and start the Jonathan & David inspirational greeting card business, utilizing the teardrop-eyed children Sam had been drawing for family and friends over the years. Sam called them "Precious Moments" because they carried messages of loving, caring and sharing to those he loved. This company was the first step toward the phenomenal success of Sam and his Precious Moments illustrations. In 1979, Enesco Corporation transformed the artwork into porcelain bisque figurines. Beautifully detailed, the golden haired boy holding his tennis racket has a bandaged knee. In very good plus condition without chips or cracks, it has been displayed through the years, and he measures 3 inches tall, 1 3/4 inches wide and 1 1/4 inches deep and was suspended in 1988. An addition to any Precious Moments Christmas Ornament Collection. SH & Ins. will be quoted after orders placed. If you have any questions contact me and thank you for looking.
