Description: A Fine Greek Etruscan Luristan Bronze Vase or cup. Greek, circa: 800 BC. Measuring: 3.75" high.

Provenance:

Collection of Marcel Gibrat (1915-1993).

Mr. Gibrat was Art conservator for the Metropolitan Museum of Art from 1957 to 1965. Mr. Gibrat owned and operated an Antiquities gallery on Madison Avenue in New York City from 1965 to 1991.

In 1969 Mr. Gibrat was visited by one Mr. Chensas, a well known antiquities dealer who introduced him to the idea of becoming an antiquities dealer. Mr. Gibrat started to buy at Sotheby's, Christie's and other New York area auction houses at that time. This began a thirty-year love affair with arts and antiquites.
