Description: Henry Robert Morland (1719?-1797) was known as "Old Morland" on account of being the father of George Morland. He was an artist, art dealer, and restorer of paintings. He had a good reputation, which was furthered by the brilliant success of his son, George. Prosperous earlier in life, he later suffered bankruptcy and received charity from the Royal Academy. He painted portraits and genre subjects.
