Description:
Megargee Gun Dog Prints -
This is a collection of hunting dog prints taken from paintings
by Edwin Megargee (1883-1958), a well known painter of dogs
back during the first half of the 20th century. This portfolio of
prints, a reissue by Field & Stream ca 1945, is titled “The Field &
Stream Portfolio - Gun Dogs at Work - Six Paintings by Edwin
Megargee”. The dogs portrayed in these prints are:
1) The Springer Spaniel
2) The CockerSpaniel
3) The Pointer
4) The English Setter
5) The Chesapeake Bay Retriever
6) The Labrador Retriever.
Included with the portfolio, is a booklet containing a brief
history of each of the six breeds of dogs written by Freeman
Lloyd. All six prints measure approximately 10" by 12.5" and
have full margins. In addition, the colors are exceptionally bright
and the paper has no foxing or other blemishes.
