Description:
This antique porcelain plaque depicting a young woman in full portrait is after the original painting by the noted French painter, Adolphe Etienne Piot (1850-1910). Its title is believed to be "comtemplation". Plaque measures 5.5 by 4.1 inches (14.0 by 10.5 cm) and the frame measures 9.1 by 7.1 by 0.6 inches. Plaque and frame weigh a total of 1 lbs. 3 oz. (0.54 kg). Plaque is housed within an old oval bronze frame (likely original to the plaque), which is set within a a newer picture frame with velvet matte. We have not removed the plaque from the frame for inspection, and this item is being sold "as-is". There are roughly a dozen or more noticeable scratches. This item resides with our client on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in New York and may be seen by appointment.
