Description: A wonderful and unusual specimen cabinet in Rare Plum Pudding Mahogany. Note the beautiful pattern in the grain in the photo that shows the top of this little chest. Designed to resemble a miniature chest of drawers instead of the more traditional wellington style cabinet, this chest would have originally house a collection of items that appealed to the country gentleman in his pursuit of the latest naturalist craze. Eggs, butterflies and shells are quite often found in cabinets such as these. Today it makes a great place for your stamp collection, to house your silver or jewelry or even your remote control and theatre tickets! A great size for use as an end table.
