Description:
"A toy phonograph with a
natural life-like tone.Plays just like mom and
dad’s phonograph." That is what enticed children to convince their parents to buy this miniature
phonograph by the Atlas Toy Company of Chicago,
Illinois. This 1948 toy was made of the new
material called plastic.
The small 4 inch records were written and produced especially for the Playola
Phonograph. The records came in albums just like
the grown-ups had. Each Playola came with
Goldentone Needles especially manufactured
for children’s records.
The children were also given a sample record to
learn how to turn the crank at the proper speed
I have album 101 Golilocks and the three bears (3 records) and album 105 with the lion and the mouse, the tortoise and the hare , wolf! wolf! and the wind and the sun (3 records) also 1 single record of children's nursery rhymes. The box has some corner wear and 1 tear on the front edge it is straight out of a Nebraska estate
