Description: I would have to say this is probaley the finest Folk Art full plate tintype I have ever come by. The frame measures 13 x 14 inches while the stunning tintype comes in at 8 1/2 x 9 inches. Very close to being a mammoth plate. The tintype shows two adorable southern children. The boy is wearing a childs military school styled jacket. While the girl is wearing an off the shoulder dress while holding a huge bouquet of tinted flowers. The second upclose picture I took provided for your inspection reflected some glare off the original glass. I point this out because the image itself is striking with perfect hues and tones. The back still has it's original oak board backing and period nails. This piece came from Gainesville,Florida and was probaley the children of a wealthy plantation owner. You will love having this celebrate any room in your home.
