Description:
This pink satin Art Deco Glass powder jar is known as Dolly Sisters, after the famed vaudevillians and it is shown in Whitmyer - Bedroom & Bathroom Glassware of the Depression Years on page 41. Jenny and Rosie Dolly, were a Hungarian sister act who took Europe, and then America, by storm in the early 1900s. The powder jar measures about 7 inches, with the lid, 5 1/2 inches without, 5 inches across the rim and 6 1/2 inches x 4 1/2 inches across the base. With the exception of small chips on both sides, the opposite side from the female figurals, and a small amount of roughness on the inside rim of the jar both the jar and its lid are otherwise in excellent condition.
