Description:
Elegant 13 piece Tea Set with Dragon Motif, often referred to as Dragonware. The teapot is 8 1/2 inches tall including the gold finial lid and 7 1/2 inches wide including the cruved spout and all gold handle. The inside rim and spout of the teapot are done in peach lusterware trim. The same color lusterware is on the inside of the cups and trims the cream and sugar. There are four demitasse size cups and saucers, a creamer and a sugar bowl with lid. Done in smoke gray with darker gray, white, tan and turquoise trimmed in gold. All pieces feature a full size winged dragon resting in the clouds portrayed in high relief using slip trailing moriage. All pieces are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The cups and suacers are super thin and delicate. The mark on the bottom is found in many reference books, however the maker is unknown. Please see our other fine Oriental, Nippon and Noritake listings.
