Description:
Edwin Vortey's Pianola was so successful that its name came to be used by the public for almost any type of player piano. This is a genuine Pianola made around 1898. The nick name for this instrument was the "push up" because you would push it up to a piano and pump the pedals and it would work like a player piano. This was the first truly musical piano playing device. It uses the same paper rolls as the very old player pianos. The case is beautiful rosewood. The interior is lined with birds eye maple. I am not sure how well it works because I don't have a piano near by. This is very heavy. Pick it up or arrange pick up with your van line. I will be happy to meet the truck.
