Description:
STUNNING Pair of ? Vintage ca 1940s WWII-era to ca 1970s (they are possibly WWII-era not only because there is a Military Title preceding the name handwritten on the underside - Capt H. Boyer or Boxer, indicating they may have been specially made for a Soldier’s Wife/Girlfriend for him to bring home to her - but also because of the types of Materials used for as well as to attach the Floral & Leaf Embellishments, along with the types of Metal Studs used to Anchor them to the Sides of the Shoes) OR, ALTERNATIVELY ? Modern Retro (we are not footwear experts, Vintage or otherwise) Handmade/Hand-Made Hand-Carved Wooden Philippines Womens'/Ladies’/Lady’s Platform Lace-Up High-Heel Cutout-Design Shoes.
This DELIGHTFUL Pair of Asian shoes is Decoratively Carved with a Design/Scene consisting of Palm Trees and Village Houses/Huts. Remaining VIVIDLY COLORFUL, the Primary Color on the Wooden Body of the Shoes is Turquoise, with Greens for the Palm Trees and Maroon and White for the Huts. The Upper Portion/Top Pieces of the Shoes are made up of a Taupe/Beige Burlap-type material, the Underside Interior of which is Orange and the Top of which is ornamented with a centered, 3-dimensional Flower that Raises/Lifts/Stands Up/Away from the Shoes.
Manufacturer’s Imprinted on the soles of the Shoes reads:"Jesus E. Siozon, Wooden Shoe Shop, can't read this next word, Leyte Philippines, Handmade." Then, hand-written is: "Capt. H. Boxer."
Measurements (we’re not sure what size these measurements equate to) :
*Lengthwise, Uppers measure 9 1/8" from Toe to Heel
*Widest part across the Ball of the Foot measures just under 2 1/4" Widthwise
*Narrowest portion widthwise is 2"
*Widest part across the front part of the Foot measures approximately 2 5/8"W (it was difficult to get up under the burlap to obtain this measurement)
*Height of Heels being 3".
With their CHARMING NOVELTY and ETERNAL STYLISHNESS, these Shoes remain FOREVER DESIRABLE and in Good Pre-Owned Condition, with Paint that is still VIVIDLY BRIGHT. There are a modicum of not-unusual condition factors associated with their Pre-Owned status as follows, including, but not limited to: minimal rubbing/scuffing; the need for Replacement Ribbons/Laces to lace them up; a slight chip in the wood surface of the front toe area of the top side of the Left Shoe (hidden when worn); burlap surface coloration toning; a couple of tiny tears in the surfaces of the Burlap; and a couple of minimally noticeable stains.
