Description: One of the many books from the Estate of Francis P. Fretwell that we will be selling. The library is the largest privately owned collection of dog books in the world. Mr. Fretwell was the owner of Monfret Kennels, which bred champion standard poodles. He was former president and governor of the Poodle Club of America, and the Italian Greyhound Club of America. He also served as a delegate to the American Kennel Club for decades. His wonderful collection of books has been carefully maintained. *** Petland Revisited. By Rev. J. G. Wood, M.A., F.L.S. New York: R. Worthington, 1884. Tall 12mo., 310p., (about 90p. regarding dogs), tan cloth with brown lettering and illustration, drawings by Margery May, engraved by G. Pearson. A collection of anecdotes about pets, conveying morals. Wear at head and tail of spine, edges rubbed, tips have minor board exposure, light soiling. Mr. Fretwell's bp on front flyleaf, flyleaves foxed, hinges weak, interior good.
