That's all there is to it! Welcome! For Sale is an antique, circa 1930s Islamic (Persian, Arabic) tapestry measuring 37 inches square, with an additional 3 inches of knotted fringe along the edges. It has an ecru linen base with jewel tone silk floss thread embroidery in colors of ruby/garnet-red, sapphire blue and golden topaz. The borders are decorated with symbols or glyphs evocative of Islamic or Persian writing. The center has a gorgeous Moorish rose window medallion design surrounded by a floral vine motif. There are a couple of two inch sections of missing fringe, some areas where the ecru linen has a pinkish tone from mild color bleed and there are some pulled threads, but no rips, tears or holes. One of the photos shows a corner section of the reverse of the tapestry. Overall good condition. Its use was as a ritual or festive table covering. Buy it now!
