Description: C.1850 Napoleon III black papier mache tilt top table from France is inlaid with mother of pearl in the intricate design surrounding the top as well as accents within. Beautiful painting of two young boys feeding the birds with a large tray on an elegant garden stairway. Mother of pearl is incorporated into the painted scene which gives a striking moonlit effect. The hand painted combination gives a more faint view visible for distant objects such as the trees and floral in the background. Gilt scroll painting on the three legs and pedestal. Tilts with the aid of a sturdy brass knob beneath. All mother of pearl in tact, the painting preserved perfectly as well. Overall excellent condition, slight warp to top wood from C.1850 age, small rough area 2 inches on side lip. Measures 18W X 18L X 24H when open,33H upright.
