Description: Really unusual pair of 6 1/2 inch tall totem pole candle holders. The brightly painted faces over the brown wood colored pottery are striking. I have seen the same painted design in a stacking salt & pepper set listed in Carole Bess Whites' Made in Japan Book III. They may have made a whole kitchen set. I assume these are Eskimo totem poles. The condition is great with 99% of the cold paint still in place. No chips or cracks and only over all crazing that you see in lots of older pieces. One candle holder still has the gold ANCO Made in Japan paper label on the bottom.
