Description:
MARVELOUS VICTORIAN ROCOCO PAIR OF ROSEWOOD CORNER TABLES
Marvelous very rare and unusual pair of Rosewood Victorian Rococo Revival Marble Top Parlor Corner Tables ~ attributed to Alexander Roux, circa 1850's.
Wonderful and profusely pierced carved floral and fancy scroll skirting and delicately carved flowers and foliage cascading down cabriole legs that end with whorl feet. Even the legs are pierced carved, which is most unusual and adds to the charm of these tables. Great ornately pierced carved scrools on the stretches. Only pair of corner tables, of this quality, I have seen. The carvings are on the level of only a few Cabinet Shops like Belter, Meeks, and Roux. They are a real delight and a true example of the opulence of the Rococo style and come with the original marble tops, one has two professionally repaired breaks. Most unusual pair of tables and the very Hallmark or the Rococo Revival era.
