Description:
A lovely PAIR of pierced sterling silver napkin ring. The hallmarks date it to Birmingham 1911. Complex pierce work that makes up a scroll pattern that is larger in the front than the back of each ring. It is rare to find a pair still together - but they are sold individually for $325 each... Pierced napkins for this type of exacting & painstaking detailwork and are thus highly prized and are much more rare than the solid ones. Napkin rings are very collectible and have enjoyed a recent revival due to the growing "green" trend, many people have resurrected the tradition of cloth napkins at the table - instead of using and disposing of paper napkins. Individual napkin rings are then placed at each place setting so that you know which is your napkin to reuse at the next meal. Pairs, sets of 4 & 6 are also available. Makes a great gift!
