Description:
Pair of Hand-Painted Porcelain Lamps in near-mint condition. Florals front and back and jewel-like decoration around mouths and bases of vases are perfect. Note that the reticulated bases in the form of Chinese carved stands are actually made as part of the vase. I have been unable to find any signatures or marks, but these are clearly works of fine art. The colors are gorgeous. Their size and style place them in the first third of the 20th century. Each lamp is wired for a large base bulb inside the milk glass shade and two standard base light bulbs on either side. Chain pulls create a 5-way-on choice. The lamps have vintage custom silk shades that fit on the glass shades. These silk shades are in excellent condition. The Silk Shades and the backs of the lamps are shown in image 4. The height of the lamps from top of milk glass shades to table is approximately 29.5 inches and they are approximately 10 inches at their widest point, handle to handle. With their outer Silk Shades in place, they are 33 inches tall. The silk shades measure approximately 18 inches diameter.
