C. France. The bisque porcelain portrait busts on gilt cobalt glazed porcelain pedestals are cast after original models by Jean-Antoine Houdon, (French, 1741-1828) and depict Louis and Alexandre Brongniart, the daughter and son of the prominent architect Alexandre Theodore Brongniart, designer of the Paris Bourse, and friend of Houdon. The back of each bust is marked with incised signature "D. HOUDON" and factory mark "C. THARAUD LIMOGES FRANCE". The busts are each mounted on elaborate Rococo style gilt brass stands with curved light posts to the back terminating in single light sockets with harps. Price Comparison: $2000-3000 in Fine Art & Antiques Gallery. Dimensions: Full Lamps (to top of harps): 35-1/2" & 36" High, 8" Wide, 8" Deep. Lamp Bases (to top of heads): 21" High, 8" Wide, 8" Deep. Total Weight: 16lbs. (Each: 8lbs.) Condition: The cords are intact and the lamps appear to be in working condition. There is some light dirt/dust and small rubbing/wear marks to the surface of each bisque porcelain bust (not serious). There is some light rubbing/wear and oxidation to the surfaces of the brass mounts/bases and light fixtures. The finials do not match. Otherwise, the lamps are in good condition.
