Description: Very RARE - it's a PAIR.....This "Flower garden" quilts are truly a work of art. It is a great example of this always popular and very collectible pattern. The quilt is entirely hand made. The hand quilting is quite intricate and precisely done. Details: The batting is thin. The entire quilt is made with tiny hexagon patches. Each "flower" is created with 4 rings of fabric from the 20's or 30's. The center is green with bluish tint, the next ring is a solid pale yellow color, next ring is a delightful dainty floral pattern (wonderful examples of deco era fabric) and the outside ring is same as the center (green with bluish tint). The border is pink, which adds to the beauty and quality of this fabulous quilt. The hand quilting is gorgeous....one of the quilts is signed and dated on the back "Jackie Olmsted? - 1932). There are 86 "flowers" on the quilt, each of them consists of 37 pieces and measures approximately 9x9 inches. Dimension : approximately 89 x 70 inches, 2nd quilt is bit larger - 93 x 73 inches and little lighter in color, perhaps it was used and washed more often. Condition : Quilt #1 - No wear, few spots on the back and on pink border (looks like tea color spatter). Quilt #2 - Wear in each corner (can be repaired) or just cut down the size?, since this one is larger than the other, 1 round 1/4" spot in the pink border, (2) 1/4" spots on the back. Please scroll completely to the righ and down - 2 separate photos with details. We are limited to 4 images, so if you want to see more detailed photos, please email me...
