Description:
Included here is a matching pair of English Georgian period (George III or George IV) Regency style carved gilt wood sconces, featuring two candle arms, and blue and white Jasper ware plaques by Wedgwood. Each measures an impressive 46.25" tall, 19.25" wide and 5" deep. One plaque depicts cherubs beside a globe of the earth, while the other depicts cherubs involved in the drawing of a marble bust. The gilded finish on both is believed to be original, and there are numerous flake chip losses consistent with age. While the pair are structurally sound, they are relatively delicate and must be professionally crated to ensure safe delivery. These items reside with our client in midtown Manhattan and may be seen in person by appointment. Additional images forwarded upon request.
