Description: Pair of handpainted basketweave bowls or baskets with handles at either end. Made Germany, 19th century.
Measure 9 1/4inches from end of handle to other handle and 3inches to highest point.
Oval shape with outwards sloping sides. Rope entwined rims and handles at either end. Highlighted with gilding. Basket weave sides.
Bottom of each basket is handpainted with beautiful flowers and butterflies in bright colours.
Each piece is marked with blue underglaze swords and impressed 35A.
Condition is generally very good. Some wear to gilt highlights and one basket has a tiny piece of basketweave missing. (see enlarged photo).Otherwise, excellent condition with the paint fresh and clear.
