Description:
This is a True pair Antique Piece. Check out the mark on the back. We found this mark, date and description in a Kovels Book. The plate also has an impressed mark and a blue letter underglaze. We have located some history on it also as follows: RIDGWAY WARE: Job Ridgway, the founder, one of Wedgwood's apprentices, started in business in 1794 at Shelton, Staffordshire, and in 1802 built the works known as Cauldon Place. Later, the businesses of several others of the Staffordshire potters were combined with this factory. Ridgway made a good grade of earthenware similar in many respects to ironstone china, and also made porcelain of excellent quality. This is a wonderful and RARE Antique grecian flow blue Quality that is in remarkable condition. The design is absolutely fabulous, the finish is very shiny, there is no discoloration, very minor crazing only, plate looks almost brand new. Truly a fanatasic find.
