Description:
These fine jardinieres have an oval waisted shaped form. The shaped rim has central applied cast and chased mask decoration to either side. There is gadroon decoration to each flared, semi circular shaped end. There is embossed fluted decoration to the lower portion of the body. Each jardiniere sits on an oval pierced decorated frame supported by four impressive cast, chased and applied Regency style, acanthus leaf and paw decorated feet. The jardinieres are fitted at either end with impressive lion mask and ring handles. These jardinieres are an extremely good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent condition. The decoration is very crisp and sharp. Full hallmarks struck to the surface towards the end of each jardiniere are all very clear. Reflections in photography may detract from the true representation of these items. Length 28cm/11", Depth 16cm/6.3", Length to flared rim 11.2cm/4.5", Total Weight 30 troy ounces/933g.
