Description: OUTSTANDING VICTORIAN RENAISSANCE REVIVAL WALNUT DOUBLE PEDESTAL DESK Impressive Victorian Renaissance Revival Walnut & Burl Walnut Double Pedestal Desk, circa 1875 Features include a like new leatHer top inset in a burl wood frame, burl panels on the skirt, sides, back, front, and inside the knee hole. The pedestal supports feature double burl framed panels on the inside and ends of the desk. The front, or business side, of the desk features three burl faced drawers flanked by burl panels on one side and a burl paneled storage/file compartment on the other side, a center burl faced drawer flanked by two more functional burl faced drawers, beautiful carved capitals, roundels, original carved escutcheons, stepped out base, burl rounded corners, and attractive recessed burl panels on each storage compartment door of each pedestal on the opposite side of the desk. The desk is beautifully finished on all four side allowing for easy placement in your setting. Presented in beautifully restored condition and comes with 3 working keys. All the many locks are functional. PLEASE NOTE: The desk is in excellent restored condition, the many framed burl panels are magnificent. The leather writing surface has minor imperfections and the Greek Key Embossing is not perfectly straight on one end, shown in the last picture.
