Description:
“Bird Still Life” is a wonderful original drawing by talented artist Jill Thomas. A large bird sits in the foreground among an odd array of items. A second bird is perched on spindly twigs in the background surrounded by a butter churn, a chair, and a wine bottle. The surreal scene was drawn using both the cross-hatching technique as well deep shading to give the composition dimension. The deep areas of the piece provide contrast to those that are more delicately rendered but the objects retain softness through the use of the paper’s natural color as the ground. The drawing is matted in simple black to add additional contrast and is mounted in a brushed silver frame with black inner fillet. The unique matting and framing presentation of this piece was individually selected and created by Le Chateau’s renowned master framer, Jeanette Shoenrock, and bears her signature on the back. Including the gorgeous frame this piece measures 24 ¼” x 28 ¼” and would be a wonderful and affordable addition to any collection of original drawings or surreal works of art.
