AN ORIGINAL 1996 MIXED MEDIA PAINTING OF AN AMERICAN EAGLE IN FLIGHT A highly unusual mixed media painting of an American eagle in flight, in the act of swooping down with talons and wings outstretched after prey hidden in a thicket of sanseveria (snake) plants. The eagle flies through blue skies with mountains in the distance, and is portrayed in almost three-dimensional or full relief in this painting, as are the plants below it (see photos). The artist is a well-known Florida west coast painter who works in this high relief style. Dimensions are 20" high by 16" wide, and condition is excellent. The artist has signed and dated this work at the lower right, 'G. Conran '96'. The canvas is stretched on wood supporting bars and unframed.
