Description:
A CHARMING ORIGINAL PAINTING OF A NATIVE AMERICAN INDIAN BABY IN A BLANKET An unusual and adorable original painting by well known Miami, Florida, Cuban-American artist Perez Cruz, of a Native American Indian baby wrapped in a papoose-type blanket. The work is done is a distinctive primitive or animation-like style. The sweet child stands on a patch of land between two flowers on stalks which come up to her shoulders, and she peeks out of the blanket with one eye at the observer. She wears hand-made Native American moccasins as she stands before a wide plain that stretches out to distant mountains. The artist has signed this work at the lower right, 'Perez Cruz'. This painting was created circa the 1990's. Dimensions are 22" by 18", and condition is excellent. The frame is of gilt metal, with a narrow canvas mat. Note that the lower right portion of the mat has been discolored, probably by a spilled drink, due to its age.
