Description:
AN ORIGINAL OIL PAINTING OF A MOUNTAIN LANDSCAPE IN THE CHINESE STYLE A lovely original painting of a mountain landscape scene in the Chinese landscape painting style. A crane, symbolizing long life in traditional Chinese art, spreads its wings to land on a rocky plain in the foreground. The artist's application of paint and brushstrokes is beautifully texturized to express the realism of the soil and landscape. In the foreground and disappearing into the distant mist are trees that are weathered and worn by time and the elements. In the far distance, high mountain peaks pierce the clouds and mist, and a full moon can be seen just rising. The color palette is a traditional Asian-style one of muted daybreak hues. The artist has signed this work at the lower left, and condition of both the gilt-wood, bamboo style frame and canvas is excellent. Overall dimensions are 28" high by 15.75" wide, and this painting was created circa the last quarter of the 20th century.
