Description:
AN ORIGINAL OIL PAINTING OF FIGHTING GALLEONS ON THE HIGH SEAS A superb original oil painting of two 19th century galleons at war on the high seas. The bright colors, composition and movement in this work all contribute to this painting as a great work of art. Cannons blaze and fire can be seen emanating from the cannons as these two imposing warships blast each other on the rough seas. Fire and water explode in an intense display between them as they seek to destroy each other on the open seas. This painting is bordered by a beautifully decorated and textured solid wood frame, probably oak and of the period (Circa 1960's), and a thin inner fabric mat, along with its own thin wood moulding. Dimensions are 32" wide by 28" high, and condition of both the painting and frame is excellent. It is signed by the artist at the lower right, 'Bolttie'?.
