Description:
AN ORIGINAL LANDSCAPE OIL PAINTING OF A STREAM AND COTTAGE A decorative and beautifully composed original autumn landscape painting of a gentle stream passing through a homestead, with a cottage set among trees on one of its banks. Several of the trees are in the process of changing colors with the onset of fall, and the naturescape is filled with subdued color. Bright clouds fill the sky, and boulders surrounded by flowers fill the stream, all of which gives the viewer a sense of peace found in the country. Dimensions of this larger than average painting are 41" wide by 29" high. It is bordered by a gilt wood frame with inner fabric mat, as well as another innermost thin gilt wood moulding. The painting has some minor professional restorations to the canvas which are only visible from the reverse. some minor typical wear to the frame due to age is also apparent. Additional photos are available upon request. The artist has signed this work at lower right, 'A. D'Arnon?', and the piece was created circa the 1970's.
