Description: AN ORIGINAL OIL PAINTING OF FLOWERS IN RED AND ORANGE

An intensely colored still life original oil painting of bold red and orange dahlias in a gourd-shaped glass flower vase, with an orange goblet at its side. The flower arrangement in its vase sits on a blue fabric cloth, all with a deep red-orange background.

The artist has signed the painting at lower left, 'Madell'. The painting is bordered by a highly ornate gilt wood heavily carved and decorated frame, with a thin fabric inner border. The lower section of the frame bears a brass plaque engraved with the title of the painting, 'Flaming Artichokes', along with the name of the artist, 'Madell'. Dimensions are 30.7 inches high by 24.75 inches wide. Condition of the painting is excellent; however,the frame has minor distress due to age. The recently deceased artist had been a Miami, Florida, resident for many years, her studio within her historic house.
