Description: AN ORIGINAL 1960's ABSTRACT OIL PAINTING OF BUTTERFLIES IN FLIGHT

An unusual original oil painting of a group of abstract butterflies. Butterflies have always been symbolic of carefree abandon, happiness, freedom and flight, especially so for the hippie and baby boomer generation in 1960's America. In this colorful painting, the artist has beautifully expressed those uplifting feelings in her depiction of the group of butterflies with a flowing, almost watercolor brushstroke effect, and soft, psychedelic form and color patterns. She has signed and dated this work at the lower right, 'Susana 1964'. Condition is excellent, and dimensions are 24" high by 14.9" wide. The frame is of narrow bamboo-styled light wood.
