THIS RARE ANTIQUE PORTICO CLOCK IS ONE OF THE MOST INCREDIBLE CLOCKS YOU WILL LAY EYES ON!We are offering for sale this wonderful antique Portico clock recently acquired from a France estate in the South of France near Cannes.The clock is made of the finest ebony and has lovely brass and turtle inlaids.The inlaids with the different colours is the so called French Boulle technique.This is one of the most beautiful portico clocks I ever saw!!The clock is decorated with fine bronze gilt ornaments.The porcelain dial is beautiful with handmade steel hands.Early French bronze clockwork with pendulum on spring suspension, 8 days going work, the 1/1 and 1/2 hours striking on a silvered bell, perfect condition and good running/striking.The bronze movement is signed on the back with "S.Marti-Mention Honorable"(Mention Honourable).Simon Marti was a very famous clock maker in France at that time.The style of this fantastic portal clock is Napoleon III and the age is about 1870.
