OMEGA SPEEDMASTER MARK III CHRONOGRAPH AUTOMATIC DATE DEEP BLUE STAINLESS PILOT-LINE TWO-PART CUSHION CASE C:1972 Caliber 1040. Fine and rare, large, self-winding water-resistant, tonneau-shaped, stainless steel with date, round button chronograph, 12-hour register, central minute recorder, tachometer, 24-hours with night/day indication, and a stainless steel articulated Omega bracelet with deployment logo clasp and extender. Featered is the deep blue original dial. Sold for $6900 in the Antiquorum Auction last fall. Last seen on e-bay was February auction No. 160193919735 for $2200.00. Extremely desirable model sharp continious appreciation in value and desirability. Dial, case, and movement signed. Fully functional, clean, running. THIS IS A FINE COLLECTIBLE. DIAL: Satine blue with faceted black painted indexes, luminous dots, inner Arabic five minutes, outer minute/fifth second scale, outermost tachometer scale graduated to 500UPS, subsidiary dials for the seconds and the 12-hour register, the 24 hours with nicht/day indication by means of an arrow on a revolving disc, 60-minute register by means of a yellow and black central "jet" hand, aperture for the date. Luminous white "baton" hands.
MOVEMENT: 3/4 plate, Caliber "1040", copper-collored, "TWENTY TWO (22) Jewels", straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock-absorber, self-compensating flat balance spring, micrometer regulator.
CASE: Two-body, all stainless steel, "Pilot-line", brushed, screwed-down case back with engraved "Seamaster" logo, hooded lugs, all in prestine original condition. 42mm in diameter without the crown by 52mm in total length, by 17mm thick. This cae is the most unusual cushion case Omega ever produced and is extremely collectible.
