Description: Item/Description: Pair/Set of Two (2) Matching/Complementary Antique/Vintage pre-1963 HUGE/OVERSIZED Marzi & Remy German Beer Steins Mugs Tankards, Unlidded (although there are holes at the top of each handle, indicating either the potential for adding a lid at some future time and/or that there once were lids but they are no longer present) ***Each Majolica Glazed/Finished Stein has a Handle shaped like a Tree Branch/Wood/Log/Stump, and is further embellished with Peach/Orange Lusterware/Luster/Lustre around its Base. ***All ornamentation on the surface of each Stein is Raiased-Relief/Embossed/Three-Dimensional/3-D, and depicts not only the Quirkily Charming Imagery of a Bacchanalian Young Boy holding a draft/draught of Ale in one hand and some other objects in the other (who greatly and oddly also resembles a combination of the Infant of Prague and a Young Altar Boy), but also different geographical localities/locales/cities/towns in Germany, which are Captioned as follows: *Bavaria *Hofbrauhaus *Neues Rathaus *Altes Rathaus *Frauenturme ***The wording on each side of the Little Boy/Man is difficult to decipher but looks to be "Gopfenumalz - Gotterhalts" Age/Period: Antique/Vintage Manufacturer/Identification/Markings: Incised on the undersides of each Stein are the numbers 5082, either a 1 or a 7, either a letter A or a crossed V, and the symbol/emblem/logo (? for Marzi and Remy) in the shape of a bell/beehive with a sword/anchor inserted inside it and protruding through the top of it Material(s): Ceramic/Bisque/Pottery/Stoneware Quantity: Two (2) Measurements: 9"H x nearly 6"L Condition: EXCELLENT+++ (closer to NEAR MINT), evincing no noted nicks, chips, cracks, breaks, crazing or repairs, with only the faintest modicum of lower edge/base paint handling wear/rubs to the luster finish
