Description:
Welcome! For sale is an enchanting oil on stretched canvas reproduction Winslow Homer impressionist painting featuring three young boys in the waters of a harbor, with a rowboat, beneath a pier from which hangs a fishing net. At the horizon are sailboats. The painting itself measures 20 inches wide by 16 inches high, set in a silvery gray stained wooden frame measuring 26 3/4 inches wide by 22 3/4 inches high. It is signed on the lower right "Ponziani" and on the back it is stamped with the name, address and phone number of the Ohio artist Kathy Ponziani. In pencil on the upper part of the stretcher is written "From Winslow Homer Watercolor". As I could not locate an image of the original work in my research, it is unknown how faithful this painting is to the original. However, as an impressionist oil painting it has been skillfully done, portraying a lovely, nostalgic American image. Very good condition.
