Description: 19TH Century Oil Painting of a Group of Rocks, just offshore. This painting is done on board and on the back of the painting written in pencil appears to be "BRACES ROCK,EASTERN POINT...W.J. STILES". After having researched we feel that Braces Rock is an area on the Massachusetts North Shore. W. J. STILES was a 19TH. Century painter from Bedford, Massachusetts and studied in Boston. The painting is framed and measures 18 1/2" X 14 1/2". It appears to be dirty and has some small chips to the paint. Back of board has a few water stains.
