Description:
This is a beautiful hand-painted milk glass oil lamp from the very late 1800s or early 1900s. It is not marked but believe it is probably Bristol Glass which would have been made in the area of Bristol, England. The lamp stands approximately 17-5/8" high with the chimney and 10-3/4" to the top of the burner. The body measures 4-1/4" in diameter at the top and tapers down to 1-1/4" diameter at the bottom. The base diameter measures 3-1/2". The chimney is not original to the lamp but it is an old chimney. The lamp has an Eagle burner and is fully functional. Lamp is in very fine condition with the only really noticeable damage being a very small dent in the brass collar and one or two very minor scratches in the painted scene.. There are no chips, cracks, or nicks in the glass. Very nice old lamp!
